One week till spring - till the light is once again on our side. Though the dark was welcome and needed, the return to lightness is equally welcome in its season. In celebration of the Vernal Equinox, this year Cultivating Place kicks off a special monthly audio #gardenlifeloveletter for our generous donors. For all of you who’ve supported the program in 2019 (from January 1 - March 20) with a gift of $30 or more, on the morning of the Equinox you will receive your very own copy of the full Cultivating Place theme song by Sarah and Karisha of the duo MaMuse.
AND starting on Wednesday March 20th, for those of you who’ve donated $120 or more as a one time gift or a pledged one-year monthly donation of $10 (begun anytime from Jan 1- March 20), you will now receive an extra monthly email audio #gardenlifeloveletter from Cultivating Place. This first audio love-letter (with Robin Wall Kimmerer, author of “Braiding Sweetgrass”!!) will be in your inbox the morning of the Vernal Equinox, all subsequent bonus audio will arrive on the 15th of each month as a little mid-month boost for you and your garden from me and the Cultivating Place team and our gardens.

By way of just one example, on Thursday March 21st (the first regular program after the first day of Spring), Cultivating Place kicks off a 5-part series on our gardens as healthy habits, in which we'll hear up to date information from experts across the fields - including Dr. Anurag Agrawal, Monarch expert from Cornell University, Scott Black and Phyllis Stiles of The Xerces Society and its Bee City and Bee Campus USA programs, and horticulturist Christine Nye gardening under the Mississippi Flyway of migratory birds along the shores of Lake Michigan at Chicago’s Shedd Aquarium.
REST, NEST, EAT, DRINK & FORAGE: Gardens are necessary and nice habitats for all manner of life - birds, bugs, butterflies and US.

We’ve always included a focus on healthy habitat as an integral part of what it means to Garden here on Cultivating Place.
